This wonderful 15ct Gold Diamond Brooch/Pin is such a special antique find. Dating to the Art Nouveau period of 1890 - 1915, it features a central cross made up of 12 incredible old cut diamonds, on a 15ct gold background bordered by fern leaves. This brooch is also safe to wear with a firm clasp and the benefit of a safety chain.
Art Nouveau design encompassed many distinct features including a focus on the female form and on nature. Fern leaves were commonly used in this period to represent a new life and new beginnings; like marriage or communion.
No hallmarks remain on this pretty brooch, but it has been verified as 15ct Gold via acid testing. It measures 2.6cm x 2.1cm and it weighs 6.32g.
