A flirty fish brooch from Great Falls Metal Works. Fluid ribbons of sterling silver twist and curl to create the abstract shape of a fish. A button of "turquoise" art glass forms the fish's bright eye. Light plays upon the silver, giving the fish a fresh, lively look. The back of this piece is marked "GFMW" for Great Falls Metal Works. Circa 1970.

Great Falls Metal Works was founded in 1968 by married couple Jan Palombo and Michael Brothers. GFMW Inc. is located in an old silk factory near historic Great Falls in Paterson, New Jersey. The family continues to produce hand crafted jewelry to this day.
